Roy scrie ca și cum ar picta cuvintele. Fiecare frază e o acuarelă de durere și frumusețe. M-a făcut să privesc altfel lucrurile mărunte.

Velutha e simbolul speranței zdrobite. Iar Ammu, o mamă care iubește în ciuda tuturor legilor. Cartea e o rugăciune pentru cei care nu au voie să iubească.
